This month has tested us all with an intense heatwave, with whirring fans and melting ice blocks becoming part of our daily routine. Despite the heat, it’s been a rewarding time working with many young adults stepping into significant life changes. Whether they are entering their final year of school or starting university, therapy has proven to be a valuable tool for self-understanding and growth during these transitions.

The shift from school to university or into independent living often brings a mix of excitement and uncertainty. Many young adults face new challenges such as managing relationships, balancing study and work, and handling financial responsibilities for the first time. These experiences can feel overwhelming, especially when combined with the pressure to succeed and find one’s place in the world.
Counselling offers a safe space to explore these feelings and develop coping strategies. Sessions can help young adults set boundaries, communicate their needs and build confidence in new environments. This kind of support can make a real difference in how young adults navigate their evolving identities and responsibilities.
Therapy is not just about addressing problems; it’s also about building a foundation for a healthy, independent life. Many young women I work with find that counselling helps them understand their emotions and patterns of behavior. This self-awareness is crucial as they start making decisions about relationships, career paths, and personal goals.
As summer holidays begin, many young adults are taking time to recharge before the new academic year. While some clients are off on holiday, I am here to support those who remain, ready to face the challenges ahead. My practice welcomes women of all ages and stages of life, from student to senior, offering tailored counselling to meet each individual’s needs.
If you are considering therapy or want to learn more about how it can help you or a loved one during life’s transitions, please get in touch. Together, we can explore what matters most to you and work towards a stronger, more confident future.
